Beads are the most beautiful creations of mankind. Nature has bestowed us with immensely breathtaking gifts in forms of gemstones originating from various sources such as soil, water, plants, etc. By using a little creativity with the precious or semi precious beads, jewelry makers produce spectacular ornaments for our body adorning purposes. Some of the beads are popular for their material and some for the designs they are used in. Three forms of beads are the most sought after varieties in the entire world.

Silver Bali Beads
As the name suggests, Bali beads are manufactured in Bali and Indonesian island. It has become a tourist spot a few decades back and due to which the silver Bali beads came into the global market and became one of the most popular beads amongst the jewelry lovers. Silver Bali beads are known for their intriguing patterns and designs. Bali beads were traditionally worn in heavy gold metal, however, in response to the requirements of the international market for a more affordable and light metal jewelry these beads were later produced in silver metal.

Bali beads must only be bought from Bali as the local bead makers have perfected the art of making these beads over centuries. A large community of artisans in Bali work day and night to make these beautiful beads for jewelry making as it requires high level of precision and patience. The specialty of these beads is that each bead is made by hand one at a time. They do not use any machine to produce these in bulk. Therefore, the beauty, of these beads, lie into the hard work that goes into making them.

Coral beads
coral beads are a perfect example of nature’s beauty and miracle. Coral beads are found at the bottom of the sea in form of water plants. These gems fall into the category of semi precious gemstones and are found in many vivid and sparkling colors of red, green, yellow and blue. The most interesting part of the jewelry made from coral beads is that such beads are not only used as small round or oval; shaped drops of solidified minerals but these are the only beads that are used along with their branches to create unique forms of ornaments.

Although coral beads do not form part of a gemstone family, however, considering their unique representation from the sea they have been considered as part of the gemstone group since the ancient times. Most of the coral jewelry in the world comes from the Mediterranean Sea.

Carnelian Beads
Carnelian beads are found in abundance in the mines of United States, Russia, Brazil and Australia. These orange colored gemstones are popular for their surprising physical property. These semi precious beads seem translucent when small and transparent as they grow big.
Carnelian beads are not found in their orange color when mined. These are, in actuality, agate crystals that the jewelry makers heat on a high degree flame for a long time to bring this color.
